WASHINGTON, D.C. – Mehlman Consulting announced today that Sean Brady, who most recently served as Director of Legislative and Intergovernmental Affairs for the Commerce Department’s International Trade Administration (ITA), has joined its growing list of top-ranked bi-partisan lobbyists as a Principal.  

At the Commerce Department’s key trade bureau, Brady was the point person for the agency’s engagement with Capitol Hill, the White House and other federal agencies, including navigating several key Senate confirmations. Prior to serving in the Trump Administration, Brady spent 15 years on Capitol Hill working for the Vice Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, Vern Buchanan of Florida. Brady worked his way up through the office and spent his final five years in the office as the Congressman’s Chief of Staff. As Deputy Chief of Staff and Legislative Director, Brady oversaw all tax and trade work, including during passage of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act and the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA).
